nukeSyn Flood Attacks? Try this to stop it.

by gotya ~ December 9th, 2009

Here is a solution i found that does work some in slowing down these syn floods or DDos attacks.  These guys use IRC bot net attacks. Google it if you dont know how they work.  But for all you Server providers i been helping some people on some programs to stop these guys from attacking there servers any longer.

Heres the step by step

Download Now or go to the Downloads section under Servers

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\TCPIP\PARAMETERS]
Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows
Under Windows, add a new key called Psched, it may already be there.
Under the key Psched, add a DWORD value named “MaxOutstandingSends” without quotes, of course.
Once you have created the DWORD value named MaxOutstandingSends, right click on it and click modify.
Under value data, put 65535. Under base, Hexadecimal should be chosen.
Here’s a few other registry values/keys to stop DoS/DDoS attacks in the event that you have a weak connection and your system can’t even withstand 65535 connections:
“SYNATTACKPROTECT”=DWORD:00000002
“TCPMAXDATARETRANSMISSIONS”=DWORD:3
“TCPMAXHALFOPEN”=DWORD:64
“TCPMAXHALFOPENRETRIED”=DWORD:50
“TCPMAXPORTSEXHAUSTED”=DWORD:1
“TCPMAXCONNECTRESPONERETRANSMISSIONS”=DWORD:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\TCPIP\PARAMETERS]
Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows

nukeMicrosoft Denies Rumors of NSA Backdoor in Windows 7

by gotya ~ November 21st, 2009

backdoor

Someone was bound to connect the dots, even if the dots weren’t intended to make a pattern. With Microsoft working with the National Security Agency (NSA), the nation’s biggest, most top-secret spy agency, some suspicious were bound to be raised. But, not to worry, Microsoft assures us: It did not plant deep in Windows 7 code a backdoor for the NSA to spy on you.

Microsoft’s story is the NSA helped Microsoft with the “Security Compliance Management Toolkit.” The toolkit, which rolled out after Windows 7, allows enterprises, government agencies, and large-scale organizations the ability to manage levels of security risk beyond those of regular users. The NSA is a happy partner in such ventures because of its concerns for cybersecurity.

But there lurks behind the story the NSA’s need for gathering intelligence, which a backdoor into an OS would greatly aid. Cisco, for example, has built into it’s products, such as its Internetworking Operating system (ISO) and VoIP lines, lawful intercept capabilities. (Which require a court order.) It’s not a big leap to conclude that perhaps Microsoft might have done the same.

Some have questioned the wisdom of Microsoft’s working with the NSA, including Marc Rothenberg, the executive director of the Electronics Privacy Information Center (EPIC). Said Rothenberg: “The key problem is that NSA has a dual mission, COMPUSEC, computer security, now called cyber security, and SIGINT, signals intelligence, in other words surveillance.” He added that it might be tough for any company, even Microsoft, to turn down an NSA “suggestion” for a backdoor.

Roger Thompson, chief research officer of AVG, sides with Microsoft. “I can’t imagine NSA and Microsoft would do anything deliberate, because the repercussions would be enormous if they got caught,” said Thompson.

For now, Microsoft says it isn’t there. Whether that curbs your paranoia or not is another matter entirely.

nukeblackra1n: Geohots latest jailbreaking tool now live, jailbreak away

by gotya ~ October 11th, 2009

geohot-113-iphone-unlockGeohot has released his latest jailbreaking tool at approximately 4am this morning, yup, 4am on a Sunday morning. Of course, despite being able to get a slight chuckle out of the time picked — blackra1n is live and appears to be working well.

Anyway, for those looking to jailbreak your iPhone you can now use blackra1n. This method is reportedly working on all models of the iPhone and iPod touch except for the latest generation iPod touch. It is also a Windows based program, but has been noted as working on Windows XP

, Vista and 7. Sorry Mac users

, this one is not for you.

I will say that I have yet to run it for myself, however…after reading through the numerous comments and Twitter messages about blackra1n, it appears to be a solid jailbreak and one that works in very little time.

Just a quick warning before you head on over to download blackra1n.

Make sure you sync with iTunes and perform a full backup first — just in case.

Also, if you want or need your iPhone unlocked for use on other carriers then blackra1n is not what you are looking for. Repeat, blackra1n is going to jailbreak your iPhone, it will not unlock your iPhone.

So without anything else, here is the link www.blackra1n.com

Happy Unlocking Gotya!
